MUMBAI: The Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) is calling for entries to SMARTIES 2019, encouraging agencies, brands, and marketers who have secured outstanding achievements across the mobile marketing ecosystem, to submit their best work. The Smarties are the world’s only global mobile marketing awards programme that honours innovation, creativity and success. In addition to 23 categories MMA has introduced 2 new categories – Vernacular and OTT.

Mobile marketing has propelled OTT consumption and the need for vernacular content. In the next 5 years, vernacular content users are expected to grow exponentially. MMA recognises the importance of different facets of mobile marketing and has announced the inclusion of OTT and Vernacular as new categories for SMARTIES 2019.
Ravi Desai – Director, Mass & Brand Marketing, Amazon India, is the Jury Chair for MMA India Smarties Awards 2019. Jury comprises of CMOs from leading brands such as Hotstar, P&G, Axis Bank, Loreal and others. Entries will be evaluated on strategy, creativity, execution and business impact. In its 8th edition in India, the awards are going to be held in Mumbai on September 27, 2019. The program will witness hundreds of senior marketing, creative, media, communication and advertising professionals coming together to recognize the work done by the brands and marketing world. Smarties have grown rapidly as they present a platform for brands, agencies and publishers to showcase their expertise and explore ways of collaborating together on MMA’s networking platform. It is a great place to share and learn new ideas from the experts.
As the only mobile marketing global awards program, Smarties strive to find the best campaigns from every corner of the globe and garner over 1200 entries across APAC. The coveted Smarties are judged by a panel of senior brand marketers and advertising agency executives to ensure that the awards recognize commitment and accomplishments of world’s leading companies as well as individuals in the burgeoning mobile marketing industry.
For the 2019 edition, campaigns active in the marketplace between January 2018 through June 2019, are eligible for the Global SMARTIES. Eligibility for the region and country programs are for a one-year period i.e. from June 2018 through June 2019. The leading performers will receive the highest honours of Marketer of the Year, Agency of the Year and Best in Show amongst others. The submission deadline for the awards is July 15, 2019.
